Dead and Mostly Dead....

As the great Miracle Max once said there is a difference between being dead and mostly dead. I realize that from my lack of activity on this site that for all intents and purposes I have been dead, I assure you that that is not the case. I haven't even been mostly dead. I've just been extremely busy. Busy with what you ask? Well let me give you a brief update so you know what I've been filling my time with for the past few months.

Things here in Estes Park are going along just swimmingly and now that the winter snows have fallen and chilled our little school, we're actually getting ready for Christmas break! I still can't believe that our first semester will be over this week. It has just flown by. The students all arrived here safely and we have an excellent group to be sure. Plenty of sarcasm for my taste at least :)

The group seems to get along with each other pretty well and they haven't complained about the meals I've been cooking for them so I like them enough for that. :) I've had lots of fun adjusting to my kitchen, figuring out how to order food, organize and run my kitchen. Each day I spend in my "ghetto" kitchen as I've nicknamed it, I just get more and more excited for the new kitchen that is headed my way. The school is in the middle of building a HUGE new building called the Ridgehaus. It is going to include a huge conference room, a coffee bar, massive dining hall, basement storage (hopefully to be converted later into apartments for yours truly), plenty of lounge space but the most exciting thing yet! A MASSIVE new kitchen!! I'm so excited for it I can hardly tell you with words. I've had tons of fun this fall picking out new equipment, organizing the layout, picking paint colors, and just watching the whole thing come together. Our move in date is supposed to be on February 15th of 2012 so keep your fingers crossed!

I've had a lot of fun with the students this semester with going on hikes, camping trips, kayaking, snowball fights, game nights, dance parties, and who knows what else. :) I'm excited for my Christmas break but I can't wait for next semester. Here are a few pictures of what all has happened this last semester.

Our fall camping trip down to Nathrop, Colorado
